Miranda Commemorates Independence Day

PHOENIX – Arizona State Senate Democratic Assistant Leader Catherine Miranda (LD11) released the following statement:  

“Dreams are the foundation of our nation. Dreams of a better future, dreams of liberty and justice for all, dreams of a nation that gives each person the ability to succeed—this is what makes America great.  

Yesterday, Donald Trump and his Republican controlled Congress ripped the ability to dream away from millions to make the billionaire class richer. The reconciliation package that was passed slashed benefits for the poor, abandoned the working class, and made us all less secure for generations to come.  

On this Independence Day, let us all remember that the fight to shake off a tyrannical government has been won and will be won again. We will never be made stronger by attacking our neighbors, oppressing the poor, and stealing from our children’s future. Our work to make those dreams a reality is far from finished."
